I worked in Pullman, Washington (Washington State University) for a few years and got away almost every weekend. These were some of my favorite places and photographs.

Farol > Something almost romantic about the Palouse rolling amber hills and the waving fields. About half the fields here are already cut.
Farol > From a high point in the Palouse. Not a fence in sight!! Harvest time for the wheat fields. You can see Idaho and Oregon (looking SW) from this spot near Colfax, WA.
Farol > Wheat fields on the Palouse at harvest in Eastern Washington - the rolling hills are breath-taking. No fences!!
Farol > You are on top of the world here. Idaho and Oregon are on the horizon from this hilltop in Eastern Washington State. Wheat fields are being harvested and stored in grain bins all over the Palouse.
Farol > Summertime on the wheat fields of the Palouse in Eastern Washington. I love this photo with the blacktop curve and the grain bins.
Farol > View of Moscow Mountain from atop Kamiak Butte, just North of Pullman, Washington.
Farol > Summer time on the Palouse. This view is from Kamiak Butte and looking North towards Spokane. Spring wheat and winter wheat account for the patchwork pattern of the fields. The mid-day sun casts shadows over the fields. I used a modified HDR program to highlight details in the clouds.
Farol > Wheat harvest time on the Palouse. This view is from Kamiak Butte and looking North towards Spokane. Spring wheat and winter wheat account for the patchwork pattern of the fields. The late afternoon sun provided the gold colors.
Farol > Train trestle over the Snake River near Lyons Ferry in central Washington State.
